Dakota State Bank was established on December 19, 1907, under the original name The Dakota State Bank of Blunt, South Dakota. Over the course of its history, the bank underwent significant changes, including a name change to Dakota State Bank on March 29, 1989. On the same day, the bank's main office was relocated to Main Street in Blunt, South Dakota.
