History Of Dakota Heritage Bank

Dakota Heritage Bank is a financial institution that was established on February 8, 1945, originally named Security State Bank of Hunter. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes and acquisitions that shaped its current form. On September 30, 1989, the Main Office was relocated to Main Street in Hunter, North Dakota. In July 2005, the bank acquired First State Bank of Hope, and subsequently changed its name to Dakota Heritage Bank of North Dakota. The bank further expanded by acquiring Dakota Heritage Bank in Gackle, North Dakota, on March 20, 2009, which coincided with another relocation of the Main Office to 109 Main Street in Hunter. On March 21, 2015, Dakota Heritage Bank acquired The National Bank of Harvey in Harvey, North Dakota. The name was changed to Dakota Heritage Bank on October 15, 2019, reflecting its branding evolution.
