Dacotah Bank is a financial institution that was established on April 30, 1955, originally named Farmers and Merchants Bank. In 1963, it became a state-chartered bank and a member of the Federal Reserve System. The bank underwent a name change to Farmers & Merchants Bank and Trust Co. on September 29, 1972, and later reverted to Dacotah Bank on February 1, 1995. Over the years, Dacotah Bank has expanded its operations through several acquisitions, notably acquiring branches in South Dakota, including locations in Faulkton, Mobridge, Lemmon, Webster, and Clark on May 24, 1997. It also acquired the First National Bank in Hettinger, North Dakota, on June 7, 2000. In subsequent years, the bank continued its expansion by acquiring Dacotah Bank locations in Rolla and Valley City, North Dakota, on April 1, 2005, and United Farmers & Merchants State Bank in Morris, Minnesota, on September 14, 2013.
