History Of Custer Federal State Bank
Custer Federal State Bank is a financial institution established on January 1, 1925, originally named Custer Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over its history, the bank has undergone several regulatory and structural changes. In November 1990, the main office was relocated to 341 South 10th Avenue, Broken Bow, Nebraska. During this period, the bank's organization type was changed to Stock Savings & Loan. On June 25, 2001, Custer Federal transitioned to a Federal & State Savings and Loans classification, and at this time, its trust powers were eliminated. In July 2011, the primary federal regulatory agency shifted from the Office of Thrift Supervision to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The most significant transformation occurred on June 28, 2013, when the institution changed its name to Custer Federal State Bank, reclassified as a Commercial Bank and a State Chartered Bank not a member of the Federal Reserve System.
