Crown Bank is a financial institution that was established on April 13, 1998, initially operating under the name Crown Bank, National Association. On May 16, 2007, the bank underwent significant changes including a name change to simply Crown Bank, a shift in its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and a reclassification to a state-chartered bank, thereby withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System. In a notable event on July 31, 2009, Crown Bank acquired First BankAmericano located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, as part of a government-assisted merger.
