Cottonwood Valley Bank is a financial institution based in Cedar Point, Kansas, that was established on January 25, 1914, under the name The Cedar Point State Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes, including name alterations and acquisitions of other banks. On June 1, 1992, it changed its name to Cottonwood Valley Bank, and that same day, it acquired the Chase County Bank located in Strong City, Kansas. The bank continued to expand by acquiring The Florence State Bank in Florence, Kansas, on April 1, 1996. On May 8, 2003, it transitioned to a state-chartered bank and became a member of the Federal Reserve System, altering its primary federal regulatory agency.
