CorTrust Bank is a financial institution that was established on October 31, 1930, originally under the name Live Stock State Bank. The bank underwent several significant changes over the years, including a name change to CorTrust Bank on July 1, 1993. By January 1, 1999, CorTrust Bank transitioned to CorTrust Bank National Association, expanded its trust powers to full, and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. In the subsequent years, the bank engaged in a series of acquisitions to grow its presence in the region, including the acquisition of Live Stock State Bank in Leola, South Dakota, in February 1990; Day County Bank in Webster, South Dakota, in July 2000; and The First National Bank of Freeman in Freeman, South Dakota, in September 2000. CorTrust Bank continued this trend of expansion with its acquisitions of Brickwell Community Bank in Woodbury, Minnesota, in September 2009; Blaine State Bank in Blaine, Minnesota, in March 2013; State Bank of Delano in Delano, Minnesota, in August 2018; and First Minnesota Bank in Minnetonka, Minnesota, in August 2019.
