History Of Cornerstone Bank
Cornerstone Bank, originally established as Page County Savings and Loan Association in 1897, has undergone several name and structural changes throughout its history. On July 23, 1991, the institution changed its name to Page County Federal Savings Association and subsequently altered its regulatory oversight to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). The main office of the bank was relocated to 110a East Washington Street in Clarinda, Iowa, on the same date. Later, on June 15, 1994, the main office moved again to 123 East Main Street, also in Clarinda, Iowa. Significant changes took place on June 30, 2014, when the institution transformed from a federal savings association to Cornerstone Bank and became a state-chartered bank, joining the Federal Reserve System. On that date, it also shifted its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and changed its organization type to a commercial bank. Prior to this, on July 21, 2011, its primary federal regulatory agency had been the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
