CoreFirst Bank & Trust is a financial institution founded on November 30, 1959, originally named Commerce State Bank. Over the years, it has undergone several name changes and acquisitions. In 1968, the bank was renamed Commerce State Bank and Trust Company. Following this, on September 16, 1972, the main office relocated to 3035 South Topeka Avenue in Topeka, Kansas, and the institution adopted the name Commerce Bank and Trust. On February 18, 1988, CoreFirst acquired Commerce Towne Bank in Topeka, Kansas. The institution experienced another name change on September 4, 2007, becoming CoreFirst Bank & Trust. Later that month, on September 21, 2007, it further expanded by acquiring First United Bank, National Association, located in Englewood, Colorado.
