History Of CommunityBank of Texas
CommunityBank of Texas has its roots in the establishment of The First National Bank of Newton on March 6, 1926. The institution underwent several name changes and relocations over the years, notably becoming Allied First National Bank on January 3, 1978, and then changing its name to First National Bank of Newton later that same year. In December 2004, it was rebranded as CountyBank, N.A., and in August 2007, it adopted the name CommunityBank of Texas, N.A. Over the years, the bank expanded through acquisitions, including the purchases of Crosby State Bank in 2009, Vista Bank Texas in 2013, and Memorial City Bank in 2015. In January 2008, the main office was relocated to Beaumont, Texas. On October 1, 2022, CommunityBank of Texas merged with Allegiance Bank, based in Houston, Texas. Subsequently, on February 18, 2023, the institution changed its name to Stellar Bank.
