History Of Community State Bank
Community State Bank is a financial institution established on July 15, 1960, originally named Altoona State Bank. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes and regulatory transitions. In 1993, it adopted the name Community State Bank while moving its main office to Ankeny, Iowa. In the years that followed, the bank expanded through acquisitions, notably acquiring Ankeny State Bank on May 15, 1993, and East Des Moines National Bank on May 12, 1997. The bank transitioned from a national charter to a state-chartered bank on July 1, 2014, when it also withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System. On June 14, 2017, Community State Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System once again and changed its regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, reestablishing its status as a state-chartered bank. Throughout its history, the bank has modified its trust powers, most recently changing them to full on April 1, 2003.
