Community First Bank of the Heartland is a financial institution based in Mount Vernon, Illinois, with a history dating back to its establishment on November 5, 1906, as The First National Bank of Woodlawn. Over the years, the bank underwent several name and structural changes; it relocated its main office to 1300 Main Street in Mount Vernon in March 1986 and subsequently changed its name to First National Bank of Mt. Vernon in February 1995. A significant transformation occurred on January 1, 2008, when the institution rebranded itself as Community First Bank of the Heartland and transitioned to a state-chartered bank, becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System.
