History Of Community Bank
Community Bank is a financial institution that has undergone several name changes and regulatory modifications throughout its history. It was established on August 4, 1961, originally named Lexington First Federal Savings and Loan Association. On December 18, 1992, the institution changed its name to Lexington First Federal Savings Bank and reorganized as a stock savings bank. Subsequently, on December 11, 1997, the bank adopted the name Community National Bank of Tennessee, transitioned to an organization type classified as a commercial bank, and became regulated by The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency while also becoming a member of the Federal Reserve System. On January 1, 2004, the institution changed its name to Community Bank, altered its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, and changed its chartering agency and bank class to a state-chartered bank that is a member of the Federal Reserve System.
