Community Bank, originally established as The First National Bank of Carmichaels on July 1, 1901, underwent several name changes and regulatory shifts throughout its history. On September 8, 1987, it became Community Bank, National Association. In 2006, significant institutional changes occurred, including a name change to simply Community Bank, the withdrawal from membership in the Federal Reserve System, and a change in its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
