History Of Community Bank
Community Bank was established on August 14, 1905, originally named Farmers and Merchants Bank. It became a member of the Federal Reserve System on April 30, 1948. The institution experienced several changes in name and structure, including withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System on January 16, 1974, and then rejoining on March 16, 1995, when it was renamed Community Bank of Mississippi. On May 30, 1997, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrew from the Federal Reserve once again. In a series of expansions on January 1, 2018, the bank acquired several entities: Community Bank in Ellisville, Community Bank of North Mississippi in Amory, and Community Bank on the Coast in Biloxi. The institution changed its name to Community Bank of Mississippi on the same date. Most recently, on March 1, 2023, the main office relocated to 1905 Community Bank Way in Flowood, Mississippi.
