Community Bank was established on October 15, 1984, originally operating under the name Community National Bank. On July 13, 1987, the institution expanded its capabilities by acquiring full trust powers. A significant transformation occurred on May 3, 1993, when it changed its name to Community Bank, transitioned its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and shifted its chartering agency to state control, simultaneously withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System. In the years that followed, Community Bank expanded its footprint through acquisitions, notably acquiring The First State Bank in Avinger, Texas, and The Lone Star State Bank in Lone Star, Texas, both on April 1, 2013.
