Over the years, it underwent several name changes, including its transformation to Central National Bank of Alma in 1971 and later to Commercial National Bank in 1983. The bank expanded its services and operations, acquiring Commercial National Bank in Ithaca, Michigan on September 30, 1983, which allowed it to enhance its market presence. In 1992, the institution underwent a significant reorganization, changing its name to Commercial Bank, transitioning its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System.
