History Of Columbia Bank
Columbia Bank, established in 1926 under the name Columbia Savings and Loan Association, began its operations in New Jersey. Over the years, the institution underwent several name changes and organizational restructuring. In 1989, it became known as Columbia Savings Bank S.L.A., followed by a transition to Columbia Savings Bank in 1995 when it changed its organization type to a Mutual Savings Bank. Subsequently, it was designated as a Stock Savings Bank in 1997. The bank officially adopted the name Columbia Bank on July 21, 2011, coinciding with a change in its primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Columbia Bank has expanded its footprint significantly through various acquisitions, including Stonewall Savings and Loan Association in 1981, Atlantic Stewardship Bank in November 2019, Roselle Bank in April 2020, Rsi Bank in May 2022, and Freehold Bank in October 2024. Worse service ever. Deposited a CERTIFIED CHECK, and they deposited with a 4 days clearance, when I have over 100 times that amount available with Columbia bank, on my other accounts. I wanted this specific account to have fund available in case a payment or anything comes through. And they did what ever they wanted to do.... Read more
