History Of Colorado East Bank & Trust

Colorado East Bank & Trust was established on April 22, 1905, originally under the name First Bank and Trust. It underwent a series of name changes, becoming First Bank & Trust on April 1, 1970, as it also changed its chartering agency to state supervision and withdrew from the Federal Reserve System. Over the years, the institution expanded through several acquisitions, including Ark Valley Independent Bank in La Junta, Colorado, in 1997, and Baca State Bank in Springfield, Colorado, in the same year. The bank's main office was relocated multiple times, including significant moves to Lamar, Colorado, in December 1994. In December 1994, the institution adopted its final name, Colorado East Bank & Trust. The bank continued to grow by acquiring other local banks, such as The First National Bank of Stratton and The First National Bank of Tribune in 2008 and 2006, respectively. Ultimately, on August 1, 2016, Colorado East Bank & Trust merged with Tbk Bank, Ssb, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
