History Of CoBiz Bank

CoBiz Bank, originally established as The Women's Bank, National Association on July 14, 1978, underwent several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. The institution changed its name to Colorado Business Bank, National Association on March 3, 1997, following the acquisition of Colorado Business Bank, National Association in Littleton, Colorado, later that year. In 2001, it acquired First Capital Bank of Arizona in Phoenix, Arizona and changed its name to American Business Bank, National Association. The bank rebranded as CoBiz Bank, National Association on May 15, 2003, and transitioned to CoBiz Bank on April 13, 2007, when it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve System and became a state-chartered bank. On November 21, 2016, the main office was relocated to 1401 Lawrence Street in Denver, Colorado. CoBiz Bank continued its operations until it merged with Bank of Oklahoma Financial Corporation on March 25, 2019, becoming part of Bokf, National Association based in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
