Clayton Bank and Trust

Clayton Bank and Trust was established in 1889 as the First State Bank. Over the years, it underwent several name changes and structural changes, reflecting its development and expansion within the banking sector. In 1990, the main office relocated to Main Street in Henderson, Tennessee. The bank changed its name to Clayton Bank and Trust on January 10, 2005, following the acquisition of Friendship Bank in Friendship, Tennessee, just days earlier on January 7. On March 26, 2007, the name was officially adopted. The institution continued to grow and, on June 15, 2012, acquired The Farmers Bank of Lynchburg as part of a government-assisted merger. Subsequently, the bank's main office was moved to 620 Market Street in Knoxville, Tennessee, on December 14, 2006. On April 1, 2014, the office was relocated again to 520 W. Summit Hill Drive in Knoxville. Ultimately, Clayton Bank and Trust merged with FirstBank in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 31, 2017, and subsequently changed its institution name to FirstBank on June 4, 2018.
