HISTORY OF CITIZENS SAVINGS BANK
Citizens Savings Bank is a financial institution that was established in 1902 under the original name Citizens Savings Association. Over the years, the bank has undergone several changes in its operations and location. On February 17, 1995, the main office was relocated from Sayre, Pennsylvania, to 45 Pocono Boulevard in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania. The bank continued to evolve and, on October 31, 1984, it acquired Sayre Savings and Loan Association. A significant transformation occurred on May 20, 2004, when the bank changed its name to Citizens Savings Bank and transitioned to a mutual savings bank format. On the same day, it also moved its main office to 500 South State Street in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, and changed its chartering agency and primary federal regulatory agency to the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). Furthermore, it was designated as a Federal Savings Bank during this reorganization.
