History Of Citizens Bank
Citizens Bank was established on October 5, 1957, under the name Citizens Bank of Corvallis in Corvallis, Oregon. The institution underwent a name change to Citizens Bank of Corvallis on April 6, 1970, and later adopted its current name, Citizens Bank, on April 1, 1985. Over the years, the bank expanded through acquisitions, including the purchase of Tri-County Banking Co. in Junction City, Oregon, on October 2, 1993. The bank also relocated its main office to 275 S.W. Third Street in Corvallis, Oregon, on November 9, 1974, and again on August 1, 2005, to the same address, but with a new designation. In a significant move during the financial crisis, Citizens Bank acquired Silver Falls Bank in Silverton, Oregon, on February 20, 2009, as part of a government-assisted merger aimed at stabilizing the banking sector.
