History Of Citizens Bank of Kentucky
Citizens Bank of Kentucky, Inc. is a financial institution with a history dating back to January 1, 1910, when it was originally established as The Second National Bank of Paintsville. Over the years, the bank has undergone several name changes and acquisitions, reflecting its growth and evolution within the banking sector. In 1988, the main office was relocated to Tenth and Broadway in Paintsville, Kentucky, and again in 1989 to 620 Broadway Avenue in the same city. The institution changed its name to Citizens National Bank of Paintsville in 2007, following the acquisition of Kentucky National Bank of Pikeville on July 27 of that year. Subsequent acquisitions included Heritage Bank of Ashland, Inc. in 2006 and Peoples Security Bank in Louisa, Kentucky, in December 2014. On June 30, 2016, the bank underwent several regulatory changes, becoming a state-chartered bank and changing its name to Citizens Bank of Kentucky, Inc., while also withdrawing from membership in the Federal Reserve System. The bank further expanded its operations by acquiring Alliance Banking Company in Winchester, Kentucky, earlier that same year.
