Citizens Bank of Kansas is a financial institution that was established on May 14, 1886, originally named The First National Bank of Kingman. Over the years, the bank underwent several name changes and acquisitions that expanded its reach within the state. On October 1, 1994, it changed its name to Citizens Bank of Kansas, National Association, simultaneously acquiring Citizens State Bank in Winfield, Kansas, and The Turon State Bank in Turon, Kansas. In 1992, the bank acquired Kingman Savings and Loan Association in Kingman, Kansas. The institution further expanded in 1998 with the acquisition of The State Bank-Pretty Prairie in Pretty Prairie, Kansas. On June 10, 2013, Citizens Bank of Kansas changed its name again to its current designation, adopted a state charter as a member of the Federal Reserve System, and transitioned to the Federal Reserve as its primary regulatory agency.
