History Of Citizens Bank
Citizens Bank was established in 1912, originally operating under the name Citizens Bank. Over the years, the institution underwent several significant changes and relocations. In 1978, Citizens Bank expanded its trust services by changing its trust powers to full. A subsequent change in trust powers to full occurred again in 1985. In 1984, the bank relocated its main office to Broad Street and Oak Avenue in New Tazewell, Tennessee, and later moved to 130 South Broad Street in New Tazewell on June 30, 2003. Eventually, Citizens Bank was merged into Commercial Bank in Harrogate, Tennessee, on January 1, 2018, marking the end of its independent operation.
