Citizens Bank is a financial institution headquartered in Kilgore, Texas, originally established on July 24, 1949, under the name Citizens State Bank & Trust Company. The institution underwent several name changes, becoming Citizens Bank on June 1, 1972, and later Allied Citizens Bank on January 10, 1975, before reverting to its current name in 1987. Over the years, Citizens Bank expanded through a series of acquisitions, including The First National Bank of Levelland on August 30, 1990, The First National Bank of Yorktown on September 10, 1992, and two branches of New First City, Texas in Kountze and Sour Lake, both acquired on February 28, 1993.
