Citizens Bank was established on November 1, 1919, originally serving the community of Byhalia, Mississippi. Over the years, the bank underwent several changes in location, with its main office moving on October 5, 1971, to U.S. Highway 78 and College Street in Byhalia. On March 31, 2006, the main office relocated again to 8077 State Highway 178 in Byhalia. In a significant development in its history, Citizens Bank merged with the Bank of Holly Springs on December 1, 2020, becoming part of the Bank of Holly Springs in Holly Springs, Mississippi.
