HISTORY OF CITIZENS BANK
Citizens Bank was established on February 4, 1904, under the name The First National Bank of Claude, Texas. The institution underwent significant changes on December 30, 2004, when it changed its name to Citizens Bank, altered its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), and transitioned its classification to a state-chartered bank, thereby withdrawing from the Federal Reserve System. On the same day, the bank acquired Citizens Bank located in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Prior to this, on April 30, 2004, the main office moved to 101 North Trice Street in Claude, Texas. Later, on June 1, 2014, the main office was relocated again to 4117 South Georgia Street in Amarillo, Texas, where it currently operates.
