We have been working with Citibank for decades and used to have amazing customer service at the Leesburg Pike branch in Tyson's Corner. We moved our business to Manassas VA and the closest Citibank Branch is the one in 14175 S Germain Dr, Centreville.
Every time we go there it takes forever to be assisted even though the branch is always empty. We received a letter from Citibank informing that our account was going to be blocked in 30 days because of our new address, and to avoid that block we needed to have someone from the nearest branch verify our address. We went to the branch in Centreville and the Manager was not there. So they asked us to give them all our info and the Manager would have called us the day after. He never did. We had to call them two days later, he was not available and we asked to be called as soon as possible. You can imagine how bad it is for Business to have an account blocked and not being able to receive or make transfers. The day after, the Branch manager finally called. He said he was going to go to the office the following morning to verify the address. We asked how long it was going to take to fix everything and he said it should be immediate. I will just go to the office, I know it is a Regus shared office space, and I will send all the details to the appropriate department. Well, after 30 days our account is blocked. We call again Citibank and they tell us the Manager is not available because he is with another client and that they were going to call us back. Guess what, They did not! I called again the day after. I started calling at 10:10am and finally someone answers at 11:05am. At first they tell me that the manager is not available for the day. Then I tell them that I need to be transferred to the regional manager, they put me on hold and then come back saying that the Branch Manager is with another client (oh wait, I thought he was not in today!!). They say they will call me back and I insist on waiting on the phone. They put me on hold again. After a few minutes, the same person tells me that he is almost done on the other line and she can see he is hanging up (but you said he was with a client, not on the phone!) She put me on hold again. After 10 more minutes she pick up again and asks me if he can call me back later because she doesn't know how long it is going to take. I said I was willing to wait on the phone all day! and I was! After 32 minutes the Branch manager pick up the phone. He says "Yes, I do remember. Are you available to show me the office today?" WHAAAAATTT???? He never went to our office to verify the address a month ago and now our account is blocked!!!!! I told him he can go see our office anytime because it is always accessible and there is always someone available to give him a tour. He said there was a misunderstanding and he thought I had to be there for him to be able to get in. Meanwhile we have pending payments to our providers and late fees applied because they did not receive our transfers even though we sent them on time and all because of a MISUNDERSTANDING? Now he said he is going to send the form today and we should have our account unlocked by tonight! I can't believe it took us one months and an account blocked for an operation that should take only a few hours to be completed!!
