Cincinnati Federal was established on January 1, 1922, originally named Cincinnati Federal Savings and Loan Association. Over the years, it underwent several changes, including a name change to Cincinnati Federal on October 14, 2015, and a change in organization type to a Stock Savings Bank on the same day. Prior to that, on July 2, 2014, it shifted from a Mutual Savings Bank organization type. The bank moved its main office to 6581 Harrison Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio, on November 10, 2014. Throughout its history, Cincinnati Federal expanded through acquisitions, including the purchase of Delta Savings and Loan Association in Cincinnati in 1987 and The Clifton Heights Savings & Loan Company in 2007. The bank also acquired Kentucky Federal Savings and Loan Association in Covington, Kentucky, on October 12, 2018. On July 21, 2011, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The institution’s history culminated on November 1, 2023, when it merged with LCNB National Bank based in Lebanon, Ohio.
