Choice Bank, originally established as Citizens State Bank of Petersburg in 1906, underwent a significant transformation over the years. In 1995, the institution changed its name to Citizens State Bank Grafton-Petersburg and relocated its main office to Grafton, North Dakota. The bank was rebranded as Choice Financial Group in November 2001 following several acquisitions, including First Capital Bank of North Dakota and Walhalla State Bank. The company continued to expand, acquiring several banks, such as Choice Financial Savings Bank in Comfrey, Minnesota, in April 2013, and Great Plains National Bank in Belfield, North Dakota, in April 2014.
