History Of Chetopa State Bank
Chetopa State Bank was established in 1901 in Chetopa, Kansas, originally operating under the name Chetopa State Bank. In 1973, the institution changed its name to Chetopa State Bank & Trust Company and expanded its services to include full trust powers. The bank later relocated its main office to Main Street in Chetopa on December 30, 1989. Significant changes occurred in 2004 when Chetopa State Bank became a member of the Federal Reserve System, changed its regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve, and transitioned to a state-chartered bank. On July 17, 2002, the bank adopted the name Chetopa State Bank & Trust Company. Ultimately, on January 1, 2020, Chetopa State Bank merged with and became part of Bank of Commerce, located in Chanute, Kansas.
