History Of Chesapeake Bank
Chesapeake Bank is a financial institution with a history dating back to its establishment as The Lancaster National Bank of Irvington in 1900. Throughout its history, the bank underwent several name changes, reflecting its evolving identity and operations. In 1964, it changed its name to The Lancaster National Bank, and in 1968, it became Chesapeake National Bank. A significant transformation occurred in 1970 when the bank was granted full trust powers. The main office of the bank was relocated on May 19, 1980, to 1 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, Virginia. On June 27, 1994, the institution adopted its current name, Chesapeake Bank, and simultaneously changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve.
