Chelten Hills Savings Bank was established on September 21, 1910, originally as Chelten Hills Savings Association and was not initially insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). In the year 2000, the institution underwent several changes, including a name change to Chelten Hills Savings Bank, a shift in its primary federal regulatory agency to the FDIC, and a reclassification as a mutual savings bank and an FDIC supervised state savings bank. On October 1, 2017, Chelten Hills Savings Bank merged with and became part of Penn Community Bank, located in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. Following this merger, on March 22, 2018, the institution officially changed its name to Penn Community Bank.
