Charlotte State Bank & Trust was established on November 3, 1987, originally under the name Charlotte State Bank. The bank underwent a significant change on April 23, 1991, when its main office was relocated to 1100 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte, Florida. On January 9, 2003, the institution modified its trust powers to a limited basis. A rebranding occurred on August 18, 2011, when the institution changed its name to Charlotte State Bank & Trust.
