Charis Bank was established on January 24, 1907, under the original name Justin State Bank. Throughout its history, the bank underwent several name changes and relocations. On August 19, 1974, the main office was moved to Highway 156 in Justin, Texas. Later, on March 31, 2006, the main office was relocated again to 412 South Highway 156 in Justin, Texas. The institution was renamed Justin State Bank on January 19, 2018, before adopting the name Charis Bank on June 14, 2019. Ultimately, Charis Bank merged with Vista Bank, a Dallas, Texas-based financial institution, on April 1, 2023, ceasing its operations as an independent entity.
