HISTORY OF CENTURY BANK
Century Bank, originally established as Century Federal Savings and Loan Association in 1910, has undergone several transformations throughout its history. In 1990, the institution changed its name to Century Bank Fsb and transitioned to a stock savings bank model. The main office was relocated to 100 South Federal Place, Santa Fe, New Mexico, on March 29, 1990. As part of continued evolution, on December 1, 2007, the bank rebranded itself as Century Bank, transitioned to a commercial bank, and changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). That same day, it became classified as a state-chartered bank and shifted its chartering agency to the state level. In 2013, Century Bank expanded its service capabilities by changing its trust powers to full. Most recently, on January 17, 2015, Century Bank acquired Valley National Bank located in Espanola, New Mexico, further enhancing its presence in the region.
