History Of CentreBank
CentreBank, originally established on October 13, 1917, in Indiana as The Veedersburg State Bank, underwent several significant changes throughout its history. On August 10, 1942, the institution became a member of the Federal Reserve System and changed its regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve. Subsequently, on the same date, it transitioned to a state-chartered bank while remaining a member of the Federal Reserve System. This status changed on August 11, 1959, when CentreBank withdrew from membership in the Federal Reserve System and changed its primary regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. It also became a state-chartered bank and was classified as a non-member of the Federal Reserve System. The institution officially changed its name to CentreBank on March 1, 1997.
