Central Savings, f.s.b. is a financial institution that originated as the Central Federal Savings and Loan Association, established in Chicago, Illinois, in 1893. Throughout its history, the organization has undergone several name changes and structural transformations. In 1999, the institution adopted the name Central Federal Savings and Loan Association of Chicago. In 2011, it changed its primary federal regulatory agency to The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The organization transitioned to a mutual savings bank on June 23, 2014, and subsequently acquired Columbus Savings Bank in Chicago on January 11, 2014, followed by the acquisition of American Union Savings and Loan Association, S.b. in Chicago on September 4, 2015. Finally, on January 19, 2017, the institution changed its name to Central Savings, f.s.b.
