Central National Bank and Trust Company was established on June 5, 1887, originally named The Central National Bank and Trust Company of Attica. Throughout its history, the institution underwent several name and location changes. On January 14, 1941, it adopted the name The Central National Bank and Trust Company. The bank's main office moved to Main Street in Attica, Indiana, on February 20, 1990, before relocating again on March 31, 2006, to 2 South Perry Street, Attica, Indiana. On November 7, 2016, the bank merged with Horizon Bank, National Association, based in Michigan City, Indiana. Subsequently, on June 24, 2017, the institution changed its name to Horizon Bank, reflecting the merger and rebranding under the larger banking organization.
