History Of Central Bank of Warrensburg

The Central Bank of Warrensburg was established on July 16, 1984, under the original name of Community Bank of Warrensburg. It underwent several name changes, becoming Bank of Warrensburg on November 6, 1987, and later rebranding to First Central Bank on August 5, 1998. The bank expanded through acquisitions, including the purchase of Farmers Bank of Blairstown in February 1987, and the First State Bank of Higginsville/Odessa in November 1998. On August 9, 2008, it acquired the Bank of Holden located in Holden, Missouri. In 2014, Central Bank of Warrensburg changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve and became a member of the Federal Reserve System. It subsequently changed its institutional designation to a state-chartered bank and adopted the name Central Bank of Warrensburg on June 12, 2015. The bank continued to operate until October 1, 2021, when it merged with The Central Trust Bank, based in Jefferson City, Missouri.
