History Of Central Bank of St. Louis

The Central Bank of St. Louis, originally established as The First National Bank of Clayton on October 30, 1902, underwent several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. In 1970, the bank moved its main office to 7707 Forsyth Boulevard in Clayton, Missouri. It adopted the name The First National Bank of St. Louis County in 1984 and subsequently became known as the First National Bank of St. Louis in 1990. The bank expanded its holdings by acquiring Colonial Bank in Des Peres, Missouri, in 1998, followed by Midamerica Bank of St. Clair County in O'Fallon, Illinois, in 2001, and First National Bank of Millstadt in Millstadt, Illinois, in 2007. On November 14, 2014, the institution changed its name to Central Bank of St. Louis and became a state-chartered bank under the Federal Reserve System. After years of operation, the Central Bank of St. Louis merged with The Central Trust Bank on October 1, 2021, in Jefferson City, Missouri, marking the end of its independent operation.
