History Of Central Bank of Oklahoma
The Central Bank of Oklahoma, originally established as Oklahoma National Bank on January 20, 2000, underwent several name changes and regulatory transitions throughout its history. On January 26, 2001, it changed its name to Oklahoma National Bank and Trust Company and expanded its trust powers to full capacity by March 31, 2001. The bank changed its name to Onb Bank and Trust Company on December 23, 2004, while also shifting its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and withdrawing from the Membership of the Federal Reserve System. The following years saw the bank's main office relocated to 8908 South Yale Avenue, Tulsa, Oklahoma. On December 19, 2008, the institution acquired Community Bank & Trust Company, further expanding its operations. In a significant regulatory shift on January 14, 2014, the bank designated the Federal Reserve System as its primary regulatory agency and changed its bank class to a state-chartered bank, rejoining the Federal Reserve System. On June 12, 2015, it rebranded itself as Central Bank of Oklahoma. Ultimately, on October 1, 2021, Central Bank of Oklahoma merged with The Central Trust Bank based in Jefferson City, Missouri, effectively ceasing its operations as an independent entity.
