The Central Bank of Moberly was established on May 16, 1935, under the original name City Bank and Trust Company of Moberly. Throughout its history, the bank underwent several significant changes and expansions. On January 1, 1982, it acquired Higbee Savings Bank located in Higbee, Missouri. This was followed by the acquisition of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Huntsville, Missouri, on March 29, 1986. On June 12, 2015, the institution changed its name to Central Bank of Moberly. The main office was relocated on April 21, 1971, to 500 West Coates Street in Moberly, Missouri. Ultimately, on October 1, 2021, the Central Bank of Moberly merged with The Central Trust Bank, headquartered in Jefferson City, Missouri, marking the end of its independent operations.
