History Of Cecil Bank
Cecil Bank is a financial institution with a history that dates back to its establishment as Cecil Federal Savings and Loan Association on October 7, 1959. Over the years, the institution has undergone several name changes and organizational adjustments. On January 20, 1993, it changed its name to Cecil Federal Savings Bank and transitioned from a Mutual Savings Bank to a Stock Savings Bank on November 10, 1994. The following significant restructuring occurred on October 1, 2002, when it rebranded as Cecil Federal Bank, changed its primary federal regulatory agency to the Federal Reserve (FED), and became classified as a state chartered bank, a member of the Federal Reserve System. Subsequently, on June 11, 2001, Cecil Bank acquired Columbian Bank, a Federal Savings Bank located in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The institution adopted its current name, Cecil Bank, on December 18, 2006.
