CB&S Bank, originally established as Citizens Bank & Savings Company in 1906, has undergone several name changes and acquisitions throughout its history. In 1972, the institution's name was updated to Citizens Bank & Savings Co., and in 1990, it became Citizens Bank & Savings Company. On March 3, 2008, the bank changed its name to Cb&s Bank, Inc. Over the years, CB&S Bank expanded through a series of acquisitions: it acquired First State Bank of Franklin County in Phil Campbell, Alabama, in 1993; The Bank of Falkner in Falkner, Mississippi, in 2000 as part of a government-assisted merger; The Bank of Bolivar in Bolivar, Tennessee, in 2005; Farmers Bank in Cornersville, Tennessee, in 2006; and Community South Bank in Parsons, Tennessee, in 2013 as part of another government-assisted merger.
