Carver State Bank, originally established as The Carver Savings Bank on January 1, 1927, was initially classified as a mutual savings bank and an FDIC supervised state savings bank. On February 16, 1962, the institution changed its name to The Carver State Bank and subsequently altered its organization type to a commercial bank on April 27, 1962. The main office of the bank was relocated to 701 West Broad Street in Savannah, Georgia, on February 3, 1975. After several decades of operations, the institution underwent another name change to Carver State Bank on May 8, 2013.
