History Of Carroll Community Bank
Carroll Community Bank was established on April 4, 1904, originally named the Sykesville Building Association of Carroll County. Throughout its history, the institution underwent several changes, including a name change to Sykesville Federal Savings Association on December 31, 1988, and a subsequent chartering change to the Office of Thrift Supervision. On July 1, 2010, the bank rebranded as Carroll Community Bank and transitioned to a Mutual Savings Bank, with regulatory oversight shifted to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). On October 12, 2011, it changed its organization type to a commercial bank. Ultimately, on October 1, 2020, Carroll Community Bank merged with Farmers and Merchants Bank, located in Upperco, Maryland, marking the end of its independent operations.
