Initially focusing on providing banking services in the local community, the bank expanded through a series of acquisitions, including Forest Commercial Bank in Asheville, North Carolina, on April 4, 2014, and Pinnacle Bank of South Carolina in Greenville, South Carolina, on October 3, 2015. In addition to these expansions, Carolina Alliance Bank moved its main office to 200 South Church Street in Spartanburg on May 27, 2008. Eventually, on April 1, 2019, Carolina Alliance Bank merged with Park National Bank, headquartered in Newark, Ohio, becoming part of this larger banking institution.
